We Do Not Need Another Charter High School

On October 19th, 2016, the Governing Board of West Contra Costa Unified School District will vote on Ron Beller’s proposal for a new Caliber High School to open in 2017-1018. Caliber will apply for Prop 39 facilities through WCCUSD, With an enrollment projection of 90 students, the Caliber High School will receive $967,590 during its fist year from Average Daily Attendance (ADA) Local Control Funding Formula funds. Given Caliber’s enrollment projections, it will receive $6 million in ADA during its first four years of operation.

Stop Sale of Adams Middle School

This is a letter published by an Ad Hoc Coalition of Concerned Citizens. It is addressed to all School Board Members and high ranking administrators of the West Contra Costa Unified School District. After a strong push back from neighborhood groups and other groups the WCCUSD will finally reach a decision this evening. We will see which way the wind blows. In favor of real public education or in favor of the corporate edu-speculators.
